Coming soon: Parent groups for parents of older age groups

You don't need another person telling you the “right” way.

You already have books, podcasts, Instagram posts, experts, friends, and family offering advice—often with completely different answers.

The hardest part isn’t finding more information. It’s learning how to understand your particular child, trust your own judgment, and choose what fits your values, history, relationships, and actual family life. Instead of giving you one narrow formula to follow, The Steady Parent gives you a place to think, ask honest questions, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and become more confident in the choices you make.

What this is

The Steady Parent is a place to sort through the noise, strengthen your own parenting voice, and become more able to respond in ways that reflect the parent you want to be.

This small, consistent cohort gives you dedicated space to talk honestly with parents navigating similar terrain. You don’t have to have identical families or beliefs. In fact, hearing different ways of approaching family life helps you discover what feels true for yours.

In addition to the group discussions, you’ll also receive coaching, resources, and support in between sessions.

Who this group can help

Parenting changes your child. It also changes you! This group is for both.

The Steady Parent might be for you if:

  • You’re expecting or have a child under two.

  • You wonder, “Am I doing this right?”

  • You feel overwhelmed by contradictory parenting advice.

  • You want to feel calmer and steadier during difficult moments.

  • You want to trust your own parenting voice.

  • You want to understand your child without relying on one universal formula or “right way.”

  • You want to change patterns that no longer serve your family.

  • You want honest connection with parents navigating similar terrain.

If you’re unsure if The Steady Parent might be the right fit for you,
no worries. Let’s chat about it!

There’s never any pressure to join. My only priority is helping you find the best support for your personal situation.

You’ll walk away with…

  • A clearer vision of the parent you want to be

Define the values, relationships, and family culture you want to build—rather than parenting primarily from fear, comparison, or outside expectations.

  • Greater confidence in your decisions

Strengthen your ability to consider the information, listen to your child, and choose what fits your particular family.

  • A deeper understanding of your child

Learn to consider your child’s temperament, development, behavior, and cues within the context of your whole family.

  • More steadiness during hard moments

Develop greater capacity to pause, regulate your response, and decide what comes next without treating every difficult behavior like an emergency.

  • A supportive community of parents

Build relationships with parents navigating similar terrain. You do not need identical families or identical beliefs; hearing different perspectives can help you discover what feels true for yours.

  • Practical tools and a personalized plan

Tools for regulation, communication, boundaries, connection, and repair that can be adapted to everyday family life. Leave with greater clarity about how you want your family to respond to challenges and grow together.

My approach

I’m Ali Danch, MPH, MSW—a parent coach, trained therapist, maternal and child health professional, and mother of three.

For more than fifteen years, I’ve worked alongside children, parents, families, schools, and communities through periods of growth and change.

My background in maternal and child health has shaped my understanding of matrescence (which is the profound identity transition that can accompany becoming a mother) and of the broader developmental transformation that all parents experience.

I created The Steady Parent because parents deserve more than quick tips and endless advice. You deserve a protected place to think, ask honest questions, receive experienced guidance, and become more confident in the parent you are becoming. In this climate of endless information, we need protected space to process and land.
